How to use
Ummikari, or burnt rice husk ash, is traditionally used in Kerala for both oral and digestive health. To use it as a natural tooth powder, take a small pinch and gently rub it on the teeth and gums using your finger or a soft brush, then rinse well with water. It helps clean the mouth, remove stains, and strengthen the gums. For digestive relief, especially to treat acidity or indigestion, a tiny amount of ummikari can be mixed with warm water or buttermilk and consumed occasionally after meals. It is also sometimes used in household cleaning, as its alkaline property makes it effective for scrubbing utensils and removing grease. Though beneficial, ummikari should always be used in moderation and with care, especially when taken internally.
